G'day all, I'll be visiting the Gold Basin area for the first time soon...have a few questions for those members that know the area. 1.) Are there any hotels/motels close to the area? 2.) Restaurants....fuel? 3.) Camping allowed? Open to any feedback regarding metal detecting in the area. Would be great to detect with someone for a day if anyone is interested. I belong to a number of clubs and have a private claim near Wickenburg....so open to sharing as well. Cheers, Will

Sold my 2300 and 5000 before leaving Aussieland. Purchased a 7000 here for Arizona. I've told that 2300 story to a number of operators who I believe, deep down, dispute my story, but it's true.....the other side of the coin is that I never found more than a 10 gram piece of gold with the 2300, although I did find many pieces...)) As folks will tell you on this site an others, ground mineralization, orientation of the target, settings and a slew of other variables play into finding targets....

I use to own a 2300....found a small piece of iron in a Victoria Goldfield well over a foot down....I was initially surprised by how deep I was digging.......and then of course disappointed as the initial target was so mellow....thought for sure it was gold....((

I was going to post a pic of my tiny little fella.... but it would definitely pale in comparison to the aforementioned....lol

I too still dream of finding that really big nugget, this dream was initially just finding one, now I have all the steps just prior to finding it memorized...eg: initial broad signal, at least a foot down, I lift a full shovel of dirt that's really HEAVY....I sit next to it for a few minutes before uncovering it so I can let my mind run wild with all the possibilities and finally, I remove a bit of dirt from just a corner of the target and it gleams yellow in the sun......
