  1. Thank you all for your replies and i understand completely everything that has been said by one and all. Foreverteachable I get what you are saying as i have come to prefer park2 as well. As i have stated I wasn't looking for anyone's settings as i dont need help with the Nox after all it has already paid for itself so i must be doing something right haha. Im also in the hobby for the pure enjoyment of it not for financial gain. I have MS and the times I can get out to detect I value immensely. I was genuinely just interested on what mode people had settled on after having the Nox a while. I do see that people are somewhat reluctant and looking at posts I guess I can see why but i asked without even putting mine so here goes. Park 2, sensitivity 21, recovery speed 4-5 iron bias 1-2 50 tones and so far works a treat I have recently seen a video that makes me think we should dig some of those one way hits with the Nox though.
  2. Thank you for the replies and they are all fair comments, i meant no offence to anyone either. Just thought that people may have picked up some better ideas or understanding of the machine after a having it for a while. Always nice to see what others are using and had read posts about certain modes being used but couldn't find any that were mode specific across the board. Hope I didn't annoy anyone by asking again then. Just to make it clear though i did not ask because I need any help with my Nox, i was just generally interested but schoolofhardNox I fully understand where you are coming from and thank you.
  3. Shame so many views but no reply's I was hoping we may learn a little from other users.
  4. Now that we've all had a bit of time to enjoy the Nox whether that be the 600 or 800. Which mode do you think is the best and why, more to the point what do you think the benefits are over the other modes. I prefer park 2 as i find with the right sweep speed there is very little falsing compared to the others especially field 2.
  5. I was referring to the recovery speed I prefer to use as 5 with a slower sweep speed, after much practice I have got my sweep speed to the point where I have no falsing at all. The faster you sweep the more falsing you seem to get and after trying field 2 for the first time last night I would say that park 2 has less falsing with the higher sweep speed but tonally field 2 seems a little clearer. To be fair I mean no falsing where I cant tell it is junk.
  6. I tried field 2 tonight with recovery on 6 and your spot on with that, the faster sweep speed netted me more falsing. I think for me personally recovery 5 and slow and low, seems to do the trick even in trashy sites.
  7. I read that response and couldn't agree more I have not had my recovery speed below 5 apart from to try Gordon's 4×4 program. The thing is the equinox appears to me to be capable of dealing with most situations but i do think hands on detecting with the machine and learning the nuances of what it's telling you are a great start. This machine has exceptional target separation speed using it to your advantage will certainly boost your finds rate. I love my 800 in fact haven't used my Deus since I got it and have reworked patches the Deus has hit several times with amazing results. Personally I think Multi IQ has something to do with that as the little French monster is seriously fast as well but im sure most people know that, yet i have found good targets at 3-4 inches that the Deus didnt pick up.
  8. I'm not too sure about depth but i can tell you that in very trashy sites I seem to find more good signals slowing my sweep down. I generally only use park 2 but will be trying out field 2 over the weekend so will come back to you.
  9. Would not be too sure about that being the case, this weekend I took the Nox 800 out on a very trashy site that I had previously gone over with the Deus and Makro racer 2. I had it in Park 2 with recovery speed 5 upped to 6 or 7 when needed and iron bias on 4. I was swinging slow and low and let me tell you the targets that I pulled out of this site were unbelievable, 2 Queen Mary hammered, a Lizzy six pence and many more targets all missed in a trashy site with 2 other machines that are supposed to be capable in trash. At first I thought it was just a case of me not going over these targets with the coil previously so i made a point off going over a patch that I know I had battered with the Deus. I got one of the Queen Mary's from that patch as well as 7 or 8 keepers so i would say that this machine excels in trash but you must take your time. I will be taking my nox back to this site as there are several acres to go at. I cant wait to see what i pull out next and i didnt dig up much trash as the Nox does let you know what is trash you just have to take notice of what exactly it is telling you.
  10. Well done skate returning lost items always gives you a high like you say and this gentleman was lucky you have such a big heart. Hope you can get out swinging in the not too distant future.
  11. Some fantastic finds here, youve just got to love the Nox. I have become addicted to our hobby all over again and Steve thanks for all your hard work.
  12. I must be honest i find the same problem with the 800. Yes I have big arms and I couldn't get it to reach back to the velcro. Easy fix though as i just bought a piece from a local sewing shop.
  13. Congrats to you both ive no doubt you will love your machines and hunt again all the places you thought had given up all their treasures. This time however you will have the power of the Nox 800 and those small silver's will be singing for you. Enjoy!
  14. Personally I think the straight shaft was the perfect choice for the Nox but as stated if they would have used an s shaft people would be complaining and asking for a straight one. The design, ergonomics and most of all the power of the Nox 600,800 are all great. After all its the overall machine and its capabilities that we all bought it for.
