  1. Detech Coils For Minelab Sd, Gp, And GPX

Hi Steve. I use the 8 inch Detech Mono attached to the 4500. All I can say is it is one hell of a coil stable, sensative and very rugged. Has taken a beating bulldozing it under bushes and debris and banging into rocks and still works like new. Punches deep for it's size and has found plenty of nuggets. Ideal in thick scrub or areas where your swing is limited. Score 10 out of 10.
  2. Jen, don't sell your self short. You actually found the gold either by research, gut feeling or both put you in the right spot. The detector and coil only helped in the recovery. PS did you try the earphones.
  3. Wind doesn't seem to be an issue as the sound is directed into the ear. Not much traffic where I detect. I,m pretty certain the 598 only comes in the light colour. The 599 come in black but l believe needs an amp to drive them but the 598 are the highest quality with or without amp.
  4. Jen l use Sennheiser 598 they have fantastic sound and clarity. They are open backed and you can hear what is going on around you. You will hear the slightest threshold breaks and target signals wth ease. They are that good l take them inside and listen to music. With an adapter socket you will lift the sound from you smartphones to a new level. I am just a user but they are in my opinion brilliant for detecting. Don't be put off by price shop around and you will get a good deal but buy from a reputable dealer as there are some fakes about. Heres a link. https://www.cnet.com/au/products/sennheiser-hd-598/review/
  5. From Another Planet?

Good find Golden. I wouldn't be surprised if that has been smelted and cast as the indentation look man made. What was the weight. Wonder if it was a type of gold field currency.

Con was a Great Mate and l miss him greatly. Talking about the stump, he took that stump and all that was thrown at him in his stride like the true champion he was. So talking about the stump here it is. In memory of the big fella.
  10. Facts In African Market

Hi Abenezer Diress l an just trying to put this in perspective but l will say l sypathise with your posistion regarding Minelab however you being the General Manager of Depar Dedektor, a company that sells most known brands of detectors and associated products except for Minelab can you inform us if the companies of those detector brands including the brands you mentioned above that you sell and represent also had a similiar obligation as Minelab regarding the importation and sale of detectors in your country. Also would your company be in direct competition with Minelab regarding detector sales eg Minelab vs all the various brands of detectors you sell.
  11. Detector Holes

Over here in Victoria Australia we have The PMAV an orginisation that has fought tirelessly to keep the goldfields open to detectorists/prospectors and miners. Not only do they have to contend wth the issue of unfilled holes they also have to contend with those that believe all the gold should be theirs and no others should be allowed to enjoy the hobby and unfortunately try to sabotage the good work of the PMAV. They are the ones regardless of regulations will still do what they want where they want. As an example l have a photo from another forum highlighting this issue. It is a well known fact that there are several that believe that the PMAV has created more competition for the gold through there promotion of prospecting. They are the ones who would like to see the goldfields closed for their own benifit.
  12. Happy Birthday Jonathan!

Hope you had a great day and a great year to follow. Just remember you are just a day older than yesterday and a day younger than tomorrow.
  13. Started of with a quiet signal took a bit of digging to reach target Finaly got it out 1st bit followed by a deeper signal more signals And more signals being nuggety gold bearing quartz And more signals All the quartz is giving of signals and most is yet to be crushed waiting for a rainy day but at this stage its a case off still working out if return for effort will be worth it. Trouble with nuggety gold bearing quartz there can be a lot of digging before the next signal
