Adam: I love the adjective used, "sacrifice". That's what I always say to my brothers and sisters here. In fact, today I still told a friend of mine that resides in Australia that all that we need is "sacrifice". In our case, it is something that must come from everybody not only the soilders. I know that many brutality and dastardly acts have been committed all in the name of trying to make some money out of innocent expatriates but its not enough to conclude that its a "no go area". Many places are still safe. Steve: Thanks for giving me the comfort that the Gold Bug Pro will work well in Africa. I will stick by your professional advise and go for two Gold bug pro. I believe that you and Adam can't be wrong to advise on two of same brand. More so, I told myself that I am using your eyes to buy the right detector.

Gold Hound: Thanks, I will get a submersible pump from here. They are quite affordable.

Gold Hound: 5m3/h is small. Our focus is to start small and grow from there. In 2009, I was looking at something big and this actually did not allow me to make any meaningful move because I always see my intended moves then as too meagre for the vision that I have on the project. In Dec 2014, I decided to start small and then grow big from that. After that decision, I have seen myself take very meaningful steps which led to my procuring the things that I will need in bits. Yes, the soil analysis that I carried out on the site indicated that it is highly mineralized. What I read on both Gold bug pro and Nokta Fors gold say they are good on mineralized soil. That's why I decided on having them. Do you mean they may not be able to handle mineralized soil? Please expantiate on this for me. Thanks for your drilling sampling holes that could be turned into the bore-hole idea. I believe its going to be more practical compared to my initial plan of an artificial dam or pond structure with a taumpoline material. In fact, using the drill sample hole as the bore hole will be most economical for me because I already have a 35,000liter/hour pump which will be useful and the plumbing need won't be that expensive.

Adam Robinson: Thanks. I decided on Fisher Gold Bug Pro and Nokta Fors Gold because I want to have the opportunity of variety. Thinking that where Gold bug pro is weak, the Fors gold maybe be strong. More so, I will have the opportunity to access the functionality of two brands and use that to determine future detectors that will be most ideal. Last week Friday, I took a training on how to grid sample though doing so without any specialize device but using my detectors. In fact, I was advised to dedicate the first 2-3 weeks to grid sampling. Your message makes me to accept more that the importnace of grid sampling can not be over emphasized. Seems most people on this group are very vast and experienced!

Gold Hound: My budget on metal detector is not to be more than $1,500: I need two; one for me and the other for my partner. The minelab gp3500 was around $3,900 when I checked.

Gold Hound; Itsapproximately 5ton per hour. I have a pump that is 32,000 per liter and the sluice is estimated to need about 20,000liter of water per hour which I think the artificial dam or pool structure would cater for. The site is actually alluvial though not without some small rocks which is why the sluice manufacturer designed the box in such a way that it allows the alluvial concentrate alone go into the sluice. As for the water, like you said a bore-hole will be a better option to the pond-like structure but again I am also concern of the cost. I wish to develop the hobby of using the detector locate nugget and also make some earning from that exercise like you but my main aim is to see the small scale mining kick start and I will also be glad to create jobs for the locals there which is one of the reasons that we are been allowed to have the lease.

Gold Hound: Your contribution is invaluable to me. Thanks. I didn't do the sampling using the cubic meter procedure. But to build the sluice, I brought about 200kg of the soil sample to the manufacturer of the sluice box. In terms of the water situation, there is a stream close to site, I have been advised to also build a pool-like structure with a taumpoline material for ease of water supply for the sluice. I agree with you that I still have to do so much. I have decided to commence against all odds because I realized that each time I look at the enormous task that need to be done I always defer them but now is the time to start doing something no matter how little. My estimate at the moment is that in 3-6months, I would recoup the investment that I have put in so far. Yes, the minelab gpx range are pretty good but I am very careful on how much I invest so as to reduce the cost of production. I definitely would consider a better detector with time.
