During the winter there are some creeks that are always flowing. Black canyon, Big bug, Humbug. There are also a lot of smaller creeks that flow with the snow melt. I found a 3.25 oz nugget 5 feet down in one of them back in the 80s. That was with a 3" and I still had to run the water over the top of the hole with pipes. As far as regulations. I know on club claims you must refill your hole. Which is odd as the water/gravel fills it in anyway. I have not heard of any regulations as to the size. You may try and contact the Arizona GPAA and ask them. Tom H.

We go up to the Prescott area once a year for a get together/camp out detecting with friends when it gets ungodly hot down here in PHX. I really feel the altitude and climbing is a lot harder up there than down here in the desert. Hills are a lot steeper and choked with brush, that all ads up along with the thinner air. There is still good gold to be found around Little San Domingo. Its in the Morristown area and low elevation. But, its hot from late March to late Oct. Tom H.

Well...........I guess great minds think alike Mines not as short but the mod is good. I moved the coil till the GB2 started making noise then backed it off a couple inches when I made it. And, that's SPACE AGE PLASTIC!!!! Not schedule 40 PVC Tom H.
