Agree with phrunt, I have been doing some digging and have found that the GPX 6000 is indeed recognised as a valid USB device when connecting it to a compouter. I believe that this paves the way for Minelab to release a Firmware update package that the end user will be able to apply much like the Equinox update. Below are a number of screenshots showing the 6000 identified under Linux.

Yep, I have been looking at hover crafts and the cushion of air they float on. What do you think enclosing the coil with a air pillow and allowing it to glide across the ground, actually doesn't sound all that stupid an idea ;)

Hi Steven, I recall Minelab mentioning that they would not release until they had the weight down to the 14 or as close as possible, suspect the reason for the open coil design to shed some weight.

I would love to see a Ground Type between Normal and Difficult as I find the sensitivity difference between the 2 way to bigger a gap.
