  1. Glad To Be Here

Hi everyone, I'm glad to be here and happy to see a forum where people are as excited about the Equinox as I am. I'm mainly a Minelab guy, and inching closer to detecting 50 years. Not quite there yet Mine is on order and I have plans for an exciting spring season with it. Looking forward to seeing what others think of the machine, when theirs arrives. HH
  2. Happy New Year everyone. I hope your finds are many and your trash gives you clues. Mitchel

  6. I know I have said so on the tail end of a few posts. But just like to be a bit more official. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas & a prosperous New Year & 2018 sees you getting your share of the precious yellow metal. Mrs JW & I are heading over to the West Coast today for a few days jet boating up some of the beautiful West Coast rivers. Non gold related unfortunately. Making it harder for Santa to find us Take care & stay safe. Best of luck out there JW

  9. New Guy From Canada

So. This Equinox business might finally be the machine I’ve been waiting for :). Our Canadian coins actually seem to struggle with many machines due to the materials they are made of. And most water machines are geared for salt. The Equinox might be the nice combo for a Tigetshark and whatever land machine I have at the time. Glad to have found this forum. I really only lurk one other decent site that is helpful and full of objectivity. I love water hunting. And off the beaten path hunting. I’m kind of excited about this machine. I’ve also come to realize Steve is a smart guy. There are a few out there and Steve, you’re one. Do I smell a book on the horizon? Some people even had CTX boot camps. I might travel for an Equinox boot camp. :). Thanks.
  10. First I will introduce myself my name is Randy Dee and I am from the City of Durham in the UK and 75 years young, I get out detecting at least twice a week on farm land only. I have been in this great hobby of metal detecting since 1975 and used the very early BFO (Beat Frequency Oscillating) detectors with the shepherds crook handle by C-scope. I have a good arsenal of detectors but at present I use the CTX-3030 & the XP Deus and I am much like the rest of the guys on this Equinox Fan Club / Forum patiently waiting for the Equinox release, I have had my order in since the day of the Minelab Equinox Detectival here in the UK early in September and I am certain that this machine is going to put a lot of other makes to shame. I must congratulate Steve for putting together this great friendly purposeful fan club and it is a breath of fresh air reading through the knowledgeable posts nothing like the pathetic and childish tripe getting spouted off on "Faceache" and many of the other forums.
  11. Hey everybody! I hope I’m in the right section, I didn’t see an introduce yourself Area.. I’ve been hunting for 8 months and it’s AWESOME! I live in Chattanooga and I hunt parks and civil war areas mainly. I use an XP deus, Fisher F70, Vaquero and Garrett At Max. Hoping to get the Equniox one day!
  12. Just thought I should introduce myself. I am a new member on this forum. I have been a member on the Finds Forum and the AHRPS forum for some time, and I just found this forum. I live in Corvallis, Oregon. I belong to the Beaver State Coin Shooters metal detecting club here in Corvallis. I do mostly coin and jewelry hunting at local parks and schools. I retired from Oregon State University in 2001 after working 30+ years there. My other main hobbies besides metal detecting are fishing, hunting, and traditional archery.
  13. New Member

Hey Everyone, New member here and just wanted to check in. Not a new guy at detecting and I love detecting the SoCal beaches near where I live. It's awesome exercise and the occasional good find is what keeps me going. Best of luck to all and thanks for having me!
  14. We hope everyone will have or has had a Happy Thanksgiving Day. It is a time to give thanks to good family, good friends, good forums and good gold. I'll give some thanks also for some good pictures of the beaches we detect.
  15. Hello all! I'm from Austria and I'm sorry for my bad English. At the age of 47, I'm only starting metal searches, but I have not yet decided on a device. Also wait for the Equinox and hope that it is good for my area, coniferous forest, old ways ....? I think field is a bit different than dense old forest. There were Celts, Romans, knights (Middle Ages) but also heavy fighting in World War II. It is very important to me that I also choose as a beginner a good machine suitable for this type of hunting. Tips from Pofis as most of you are, I gratefully accept! Unfortunately, the detectors here in Europe are a lot more expensive than, for example, in the USA, but that's just the way it is. Many greetings, Legolas!
