The Largest Gem Quality Diamond Discovered In More Than 100 Years

"Lesedi la Rona," the largest gem-quality rough diamond discovered in more than 100 years, will be auctioned in London next month and is expected to sell for $70 million, international auction house Sotheby'ssaid on Wednesday. 

Ahead of the auction on June 29, the 1,190-carat diamond, its name in Botswana's Tswana language translates as "Our Light," was on display at Sotheby's New York headquarters.

That is one big rock and at 70 million I''l stay home.haha I'd like to find one that big in gold. That would put a bigger smile on my face than the rock.

How many detectors could I buy if I had that much money to spend ?

I'd like to see that mounted on a ring!  A person would have to buy one of those "Hip sticks" with the bungee attached to their finger.
