Another big obvious quartz vein in a Northern Nevada desert environment can be seen at:
41 35' 34.29'' N   117 27' 33.1'' W

This vein did not yield much, though its visible for miles and there are a few working on it.

Hey I've been there! That's out by Spring City.

jeez...sounds like reality TV to me, should have had the camera rolling, season 1 episode 1, our star "tboykn" almost dies in massive rockslide nearly tumbling over a 3000 foot precipice saved by agility, panic and a little luck from a plunge spelling certain death and yet the search for gold continues...

I'll send him a huge plastic rattle snake and a bottle of catsup. He'll have to learn his own bleep bleep bleeping cuss words. But I could probably teach him a few.

Thanks for this. It's the exact kind of thing I'm looking for. Only way to see if it's real is to get out there!

These seams that produce detectable pocket gold are normally small, like Chris said.  You will never see them  from sat imagery. Although you may see adjacent trenches or low pressure hydraulic work.

We can read your survival story ... I just hope that we don't read ABOUT you.

You can slip and fall 10 feet and hit your head.  The local animals will get you before we could find you.

Gold is not worth that.  Be more careful out there.

Angle of Repose – Lesson of the Day

There is a steep price to pay

For an inclination to find gold

Look for the patches

But don’t be so bold

Listen to Chris

Or in scree you’ll be froze

Hugging rocks

In your final repose

Reminds me of my younger days. Bow hunting mule deer in the Wasatch Mtns, tried to cross some loose shale, slid within 5 ft of the edge, had to throw loose shale out of the way and carefully crawl back, the 10 yards I slid took me a terrified half hour to get on solid footing.
Still gives me the creeps when I think about it.

I don`t take chances anymore, just detecting is enough of a challenge.
