Hi Guys,

My mate has an EZ Pickens backpack style dry blower vac. Hasn't been used in a long while. Its a wild looking piece of equipment, looks like a jet pack! I have been unable to find any information, manuals, value etc for it and wanted to put the feelers out overseas to see what i can find. Google only shows up some old private sales and its mentioned in a few threads...nothing in google 'images' either. I would like to clean it up, value it and see where to from there.

Any assistance much appreciated:)

No idea of value, but worth it's weight in gold in the right location when running correctly. The inventor and manufacturer was Dale Sweet of Chandler Arizona, USA. He passed away at 91 years in 2011. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Sweet once about 15 years ago and was thoroughly impressed with his spirit and knowledge of most anything mechanical. Sorry, but that's about all I can contribute, hope it helps.

Later...Jim P.

Hi Giddiup,

You probably saw this 2010 posting but: http://www.jlaforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=45726063

This is an E-Z Pickens Dry-Vac Back-Pack gold concentrator
Model GP 22A
Gasoline-powered; dependable 22.5 cc engine (1.5 H.P.)
Lightweight aluminum construction-- weighs under 40 lbs.so is portable (easily carried by one person).
Simple to set up and operate, and includes original owner's manual. Now you can work those hard-to-reach dry remote areas with a combination vacuum and dry recovery system. Not as dusty to operate as a regular dry washer; vacuums gold out of cracks and crevices in bedrock that is missed by other methods. Used very little; Costs $1250 new; I will sell it for $700

A second reference is for a used unit:

This is a great post to wake up to Steve, thank you very much for the info. Even the correct name/spelling for the gold vac was unclear from research to this point. I will get it up and running in a month or so, post some pics and hopefully get some gold:)
