Gold Monster - How Small Is Gold The 10" Coil Will Detect?

Here's a question to the GM owners .... will large coil still pick up down to 1 grain tiddlers?  (at the surface)  Or is that where you need to switch over to the 5" coil?  Thx all.

Andy, I've found that the 10" elliptical will find flakes every bit as small as the 5" coil can.

I easily hit gold under a grain with the 10" coil. It is hot enough I see no need for the small coil unless I was in real tight quarters or trying to get that last flyspeck. The 10" coil is more stable, covers twice the ground, and gets better depth on larger bits. I have not used the small coil in months.

Lunk, JW & Steve - thanks for the input.  I've been looking for a backup/compliment detector to the ZED.  It's been between the GB2 and the Gold Monster.  I really like what I hear about the GM's ability to cancel hot rocks and discriminate in those really trashy areas.
