Skate
I dug this the other day at a site that is 80-100+ years old in terms of when it last had houses on it. It's around 6" tall and I think it's brass. It looks familiar enough that I should know what it is but I can't figure it out. Any help appreciated. It has a threaded end on the bottom and an ornamental cap on the top. Thanks Skate
Glenn in CO
My guess would be part of a brass steam whistle.
Skate
Thanks Glenn you may be right. I did a search after your answer and it does appear to be some sort of a steam whistle. I knew it looked familiar I just couldn't see it. Now to find out what brand and type.
