  1. Sunday we were using Bogene's settings as it was noisy yet again. The EMI dropped considerably close to noon, but as we were on a roll we persisted and ended up with 31 bits for 14 grams. It is amazing how small some of these bits are and the depth they come from, especially considering we have been hammering this spot since 2008 with all the Minelabs since then. There are 2 little bits in the 0's of the GPZ7000 logo that will be about 0.05 in weight.

  2. Hello Woke up this summer morning to a surprise. Clouds and sprinkles. Without a doubt it was a chance to go detecting. Went back to my cousins prop. And hit the area that we left off last time. Detected 4 pcs with fors gold and nokta pointer. Found 1 little piece in iron patch. Cleared up and back to hot sun by 11 am. But managed to get 2.5 dwt on an unexpected detecting trip. My partner did good with her gpx and coiltek camo elite and nabbed a couple deep pieces. Now going back to our lovely hot weather again. Time to head to the coast. Everyone have a great up coming 4Th of july

  4. zed is on a fed ex back across the country to minelab america, no hassle so far except I kinda feel empty like a parent thats just sent their kid off to college and now they have a giant void to fill in their lives. Ive been out puttering with my Whites SST, a great detector, but its just not the same. I love the sheer power of the 7000 and the 6x10 coil feels small next to the gzp14 in an open area. A second phone call on monday got me the return authorization number for minelab, that puts the detector into the system for repair and it should b back at the service center on Friday. No word from minelab on what if anything is covered under warranty, obviously they need to look it over and hopefully word from them will be reasonably quick on what the plan will be. fyi, shipping the gpz fed ex standard ground from california to minelab america with $10,000. insurance is $145.

  5. It's a good detector. I found my first piece of gold with it and I continue to find nuggets with it. Sometimes it works better for me than my GPZ depending on the terrain, particularly in rocky dry washes. I can get the small coil into tight spaces and around boulders and stuff pretty easily. And because it's a PI it'll still detect large, deep targets so you don't have to worry about missing those. I only have a few gripes. It's kind of annoying that you have to use a separate adapter to use a 1/4" headphone jack. I've left that back in the truck a few times and have had to just use the external speaker. With headphones the volume is quite low too. I have a B&Z Booster but it's a little annoying running all the separate wires and stuff and it does take a bit of fiddling to get rid of the audio feedback buzzing in the headphones. The detector is also quite sensitive to EMI and it often takes me a dozen or so tries with the noise cancel button to get that cleared up. It may also be the areas I detect in as well but my GPZ isn't as affected by it.

  6. If such a thing takes place all of the stories should be collected and sent to the ICMJ. I believe a collection of very short stories would make a well read article or two. I would be glad to help judge as I am an experienced expert on B.S. It sounds like Steve H. doesn't need any extra projects or to have to put any more time in this forum so let's not wear him out- I don't think he could ever be replaced.

  7. Auminesweeper If you and others will write a story and find someone to be the judge. I'm willimg to supply the prize of one 7 grain Ghost nugget. The nugget is thin like a leaf with one detector can see it and another not to be. I will also ship free to anyone in the world. The only thing I'd like for all people on other forums enter if they like. The Best! Chuck Anders

  8. I have been testing and comparing the GPZ –7000 since its conception. The 7000’s new technology is not like anything we have seen before. Here is the link to my Review and thoughts of the GPZ. http://gerrysdetectors.com/articlesreviewsblog/
