  1. Finally everyone can go home! As of 1:30 this afternoon. Seems as though they now only have a warning level alert, not an evacuation.
  2. Nice read Scott. I love the history reports from times passed. I think that history is the best key the the future. John
  3. I found this while out hunting I a nugget infested area. I think it's the same type of coin. Mine is a little more beat up but I think it is the same.
  4. Yes there is one good spot there Chris. I know others spots within walking distance too. Also on private. Also would be good to use double top secret ninja hunting techniques. Be vewy vewy quiet!! John
  5. I ain't worried. I'm waiting to go detecting. The bigger the hole the more area I can find something cool.
  6. Here is a photo of the dam. The red line is the huge crevasse that could potentially undermine the emergency spillway. The green circle is the original spot effected or brake in the original or primary spillway. The primary spillway is not going to be damaged any further. The undermining of the emergency spillway could have sent a nearly thirty one foot high wall of water down the river channels. That was the main concern. Now it has been averted.
  7. I never saw any turbidity in that river. I have no recollection of it existing. I like to call them genie asses!
  8. Hey Scott, Should we volunteer to detect where all the erosion is? We can tell them it will help pay for repairs. John
  9. Crappy photo but it's what I got. The expectation is that the emergency spillway is expected to fail withing 30 minutes. Anybody got a 24" dredge on a huge boat? I'm ready.
  10. My old home town. I was born and raised there. This is a total eye opener. Never listen to state officials. They lie till it's to late. Just a personal thought. My daughters and many life long friends are displaced. Not cool.
  11. Looks like icebergs in the back ground. Watch out they don't sink your house boat. John
  12. I do agree that ENTRY-LEVEL is a bit scary but, I have found that in the right ground some of those detectors work better. John
  13. Might be like the at gold I use all metal with little discrimination. I watch the probability numbers and the iron ID. Only thing is, it's a minelab. I'm thinking after the zed they may have a bag of tricks. John
  14. Boy I love when Oroville area floods. The flood gold gets right to the top. I have a very reliable source that used to live where lake Oroville is now. He and his childhood neighbor both attest to a gold vien that goes from just about the center of the spillway to the north end of Potter's ravine. Both have pictures of family members working gold mines there. I know from experience there is gold around the area. Though I'm not happy about the damage to the dam, I do think the floods there will reveal something for some lucky person.
  15. So when do we get ours?! Will this be like waiting for other ML things? Are they really making them available to the US and if so, how soon?
  16. Yes Luke you got it. I want it at least oppsy proof too. I want one to okay with in my area. Just for giggles. Hope the discrimination works well. I have super good nail diggings to try one in. Cheers mate John
  17. Paul, I like the GPS tracker. However there is a few near my area that I've been told use these for tracking detecting areas. The guys that use them put them magnetically to a bumper or under a car. Not cool. I have cameras and haven't found any personal evidence yet. Love the idea in a honest world. John
  18. OK I wonder, did the lube make them just pop out or...? Nice gold! Love the gold pics. John
  19. I love being under ground. I had a few chances to go into some mine shafts that are still working and it's amazing. To go in and detect for kicks. It's unreal! Sunny and warm at 55 all day and night. I would choose that over hot sun any day of my life. Great video. Thanks Scott
  20. Have friends and my sister moved to around Middleton someplace. They all love it. I work in the snow usually however the last snows we got left 9 1/2 feet. So I finally get to do some detecting. I carry while detecting open or not. It's protection I'm after.
  21. Now I'm scared to run an other excavator. I'll have night mares of giant nuggets CRASHING down in me!
  22. Hmmm maybe there could have been a modern esteemed banjo play near your area. I would bring a guitar next time.
  23. Thanks Steve. I read that like a year ago but, do have a case of CRS. I will be wet for a few days I'm sure. I have to build a coffee table tomorrow to keep my wife happy and then it's on.
