  2. The 24k is for gold nuggets and micro jewelry. It not a very good relic hunter. I tried it. Max depth on a dime is 7". It could be used in heavy iron where depth isn't an issue. Garrett storm coming will probably be a great relic and gold hunter.
  3. Here’s a video which tugs at the very fabric of the new Nokta Legend Beast mode: It might just be me, but the glaring elephant in the room is the sheer loudness of the audio responses in the Nokta demonstration video on targets allegedly at the fringe depths of detecting in the Beast Mode. What do other peeps think about the loud audio responses in the Nokta Beast Mode demonstration video with an audio gain setting of 3? Plus, I believe Nokta definitely know what kind of depths are attainable with the Beast Mode and should have shared the achievable depths in the demonstration video so that other Legend users can start replicating the depth tests for themselves. I personally don’t ever recall watching a depth test video where the attained depth wasn’t quoted or otherwise how would you know whether it was deeper than what would normally be achieved? Obviously ground conditions can vary, but most peeps achieve roughly the same depth results in comparable soil.
  4. Having both the Legend and F75, I'd echo all of the comments above -- no bad advice there -- but I can't speak to the D2. Besides what's already been stated, I'd also add that, while the F75 is heavier in absolute weight, it's so well-balanced it feels as light or lighter than the Legend. Much has been written about the fantastic ergonomics of the F75, and I can't disagree. The F75 has a wider range of aftermarket coils including concentrics (if that's important to you), although the Legend's coil range is now expanded thanks to Nel bringing their selection to the machine (hopefully soon?). For me, the main downside to the F75 is the antiquated shaft design -- the Legend's collapsible carbon fiber system is far superior. I run with the F75 lower shaft fully extended, and it has a noticable wobble. I'd also say the F75's tones came as an initially unpleasant surprise compared to the Legend and the Equinox, but they have grown on me with time. While the Legend can be a turn-on-and-go machine if you don't want to mess around too much with the settings, its menu is a bit cluttered with features and takes some time to learn navigation. I'd say that's the trade off, however, for the sheer number of features and options packed into the machine. The F75 is far simpler to navigate, and would be the dectector I'd hand off to a novice user. With that said, the F75 is still wildly capable and has plenty of nuance baked into to a smaller selection of options.
  5. On The Deus 2 square Tone, I find very similar to the F75 Tones
  6. Here’s Iffy’s latest video on the Beast Mode. The comments on his video make interesting reading.
  7. Iffy Signals most definitely watched the Nokta demonstration video on how to use the Beast mode. He’s a very competent tester and has worked with various detector manufacturers testing different machines. He has another Beast Mode video posted straight after Nokta released their demonstration video. Apparently, there’s a lot of controversy regarding the Nokta demonstration video. One of the biggest issues some peeps have with the demo video, is the audio responses received in the Beast Mode over targets allegedly at fridge detecting depths in the demonstration video. They say the responses are far too loud for targets allegedly buried at depth. Personally, I think Nokta could have made a much better demonstration video, which left no ambiguity whatsoever by showing every single setting on the 3 detecting modes used in the test. Plus, if they know how to bury targets to demonstrate the Beast Mode, surely, they could quote a rough measurement so peeps can start demonstration the tests for themselves. Since they must know what depths are achievable with the Beast Mode or otherwise, they couldn’t bury test targets in the beginning?
  8. Well, long story short I got me a 4500. Not without trouble but I got one somewhat cheap. The lcd screen is damaged though and has lines through it. does anyone know where I can get a replacement lcd from? And if it’s a simple plug & play type fix? Surely there’s some equivalent from china that will work..? it’s not BAD but it’s not great and it’s definitely not ideal. Would hate to be out and it stops altogether. cheers lads
  9. Pombo, I have an F19 and a Legend, and previously traded off a GoldBug 2 in favor of a Makro Gold Racer. The legend is simply more feature rich. It is not at all difficult to set up and run once you get used to it. The chief advantage is that it can be set up to run pretty much any way I want, much more versatile. The Legend is more complicated. For sheer simplicity the Fisher wins. I love the Legend, but am keeping the Fisher.
  10. Same for me I am impressed by the Versa , a mercury is a small coin ( 2.5g ) and detecting it at 10inches-25cm is an excellent result. Curious to see how a D2 ( and other detectors ) would perform on this test ... Just to know if there is a real depth difference between the Versa and the others ...
  11. Works very well. The true quiet device in heavy iron, but what about depth? I'm not sure yet.
  12. I see mostly 800's and Excal's still. (some 800's didn't flood!) Did come across one lady who was swinging a Legend a while back. Then there's the older than me sand hunter that I run into all the time with a Ace 300. His wife escorts him to the beach to make sure he doesn't stray too far or stay too long according to him. Ha! Have yet to see a D2.
  13. 3x ? Not exactly .. Here are the local ( French ) prices : Garrett Apex : 549 E XP Deus2 WS6 master : 899 E ==> 899/549 = 1.6x https://www.metaux-detection.fr/fr/
  14. 👍 It's nice to have a chance at a recovery every so often.
  15. Odd, I never post where I am at so I have no idea why you would say that. And of course I mean general area, not their actual mine site.
  16. That's interesting. I don't recall any posts you have made of gold you have found from where they are prospecting. https://www.santanaminerals.com/bendigo-ophir-new-zealand D4G
  17. Hi , I agree with kac , I dont understand what makes the D2 not relaxing for you .. The D2 is much lighter ( 850g for a D2 WS6 ) than a T2/F75 ( 1.7kg ) or even a Legend ( 1.4kg ) .. For me this single thing means much more relaxation , at least for my arm and shoulder .. 🙂 I like the T2 audio too , but its design dates from 2005/6 and either its electronics or mechanical design are outdated for me after almost 20 years .. It is very easy to use a Deus2 if correctly set . Have you tested the TEKKNA program ? It is based on SENSITIVE nr3 and I think it would be great for your local conditions with high iron trash ..
  18. I dont own a Legend but i do own a similar machine to the F75 the T2,i also have many many multi freq machines as well, but the one detector that has found me the most gold hammered and milled coinage and about every other decent find is the T2,it cannot get any easier to setup just second and away you go,with so many variable settings with such machines as the Legend you are always thinking have i got the settings right. I have had my original T2 since they arrived here in 2006/7 and its never failed me,a massive price drop on a new T2 + boost a few months ago tempted me again and this is also still my everyday use detector. For me simplicity and the low weight aspect the T2 will always be my No1 choice, must admit i am liking the Nox as well this year after owning it for many years as well. The Legend from what i can gather is a world class machine but its never got me to part with money to buy one.
  19. Good job Clark, that little guy is in good hands!
  20. Heey.. heey.. big welcome from south European metal detecting couple..
  21. Yeah true 3d prints can be pisspoor or they can be 5 star, unfortunately I have not used a Goldseekr Swing Arm if you do get one Jin please gives us a review.
  22. Since no one has responded to you when you Notch a target ID out you are discriminating anything in that target ID range out, so they are one and the same in my opinion, and yes those discriminated targets or notched targets can give you a clipping sound when you swing your coil over them
  23. Yeah i'm north of you i pretty much only use my Apex on saltwater beaches and when i first got it loved how easy the viper coil swings through the water but soon replaced it with a Reaper coil and pretty much gave up using my cz.The improvements i would like to see would be to go to fully proportional audio on an update so only people that wanted it would get it and maybe up the transmit and or receive power ,my thinking is i run sens almost always wide open only having to back off when the black sand gets heavier.
  24. No replies so I’ll add some content… I tried the AQ with my bucket of “black sand” from upper Newport. It detects my gold ring no problem, really strong with the Bigfoot coil and any run mode. The volcanic mode seems worse depth of all. Then I tried some gold nuggets I had found at a Havasu Goldseekers dig. It only sees them if they are on the surface. No superior mode here either - just doesn’t work. Here’s a photo of the gold and my bucket. All of this seems to contradict what Alexandre was suggesting in his comments here. I wonder if they just gave up on volcanic mode and focused on the others.
  25. The F75 would be far easier to setup than the Legend, the Legend has pretty complicated menu system. I even get annoyed at my Simplex for difficulty of adjusting things and remembering all the little icons meanings and its far less feature rich than the Legend, in saying that I rarely use it so I don't get a chance to let them sink into memory. A big reason for the F75 being simple to setup is it has very few options, the Legend is loaded with options, if that's good or bad depends on the end user. I like detectors simple but not missing too many features. The Legend comes across as a bit complicated to use to me, mainly due to it's cumbersome menu system and trying to pack too much onto a screen and menu system that just can't handle it. The F75 having so few options can be learnt and understood in no time at all but lacks a lot of features the Legend has. A detector like the Legend would have really benefited from a screen like the Manticore. In saying that, I'd still pick the Legend, more features and features I find appealing especially the multi frequencies, it's like having a bunch of detectors in one, whereas the F75 is very limited there with its single frequency. The Legend will also have more ways of avoiding EMI than the F75 which seems important to you, as it is for everyone. The Legend is a whole lot of detector for the money.
