Wow, that's a once in a lifetime hunt.   Your homework really paid off.

Nice finds, what settings work well for you?

I have tried a few settings but these are the ones I’m running now.  I hunt about 7-8 different SoCal beaches with these settings.  Hope this helps and good luck.

ground balance 0

beach 1

sensitivity 20-24

iron bias 6 (have tried 0 but I dig more iron and get more falsing)

Recovery 5-6

switched low tones for high tones to hear gold better

I also increased pitch for the gold signals

Wow that's astounding! Those rings look beautiful. What numbers are you digging on the equinox? 12 and up?  I've learned the bottle cap trick by switching the detector into 10khz, but i'm afraid I'm still going to be missing potential targets.

If you only dig 12 and up you will be missing 90% of the gold. Most of the gold is small and falls below 12.  Also gold chains fall in the 1-2 and earrings around 2-3. Rusted bottle caps are easy to recognize in the dry sand by switching your swing 90 degrees or bobbing your coil over them.  There’s one other method I’ve heard about but have never tried it. HH

Very true, I've dug many women's gold rings that rang up from 8 to 13.
