Simplex Pre-order Announcement

Yeah I see Big Boys has them discounted. I wonder if that’s a mistake as with Nokta/Makro the MSRP is usually the lowest allowable advertised price. It may be right but I won’t be surprised to see it go up to $299. I guess we will find out soon. If so some people get an extra good deal. And if it really is going out the door for $254 well that’s a double wow! That’s only $2 more than a Garrett Ace 250.

Yeah, I’m set for detectors personally so much as I like the looks of this I’m still cleaning house of excess units!

No it is not a mistake... let me tell you shortly what is going on in the most honest way I can. In the past, we had the distributor control the pricing in the USA. Our  list prices (MSRPs) were advertised as the MAP price  and higher MSRPs was advertised for our products . As of early this year, we have implemented a new distribution and MAP policy which allows dealers to discount the product 15% off our MSRPs. Many customers think that we have lowered our prices in the USA which is not the case actually. As the manufacturer and the owner of the brand, we just took control of the pricing in the USA (as it is supposed to be) to make our products more competitive and affordable for users in the market. Hope it is clear now. So, yes the Simplex+ USA MAP Price is $254.15. Thank you!

What size/type do you prefer for water hunting?

A 9" would be perfect.  That size shouldn't need the large ribs that cause most of the resistance when swinging.

The X-Terra 9" concentric is one of the easiest to swing coils ever for water use.

Simply amazing. Thanks for the clarification Dilek. It’s nice at least one company answers questions directly with no fuss. You set the “Gold Standard” in that regard!

This is exactly what I was saying about Minelab being weird to me. A company rep having an online presence and answering questions and helping customers is the norm in online poker and is what I'm used to.

Unfortunately just the opposite in metal detector land and certainly not just Minelab. There have been some engineers mainly sort of take it on themselves to comment at times. Minelab did have one service person post on Findmall a few times but it was more an anomaly. The truth is very few people at metal detector companies actually metal detect and very few know as much as their customers about metal detecting or even their own products. Those that do may have no people skills. Throw in some fear at management level about what may be said and it's easy for a company to just issue a blanket gag policy. Easy, but rather a poor choice in this day and age in my opinion. Dilek has done more for her company than lots of dollars spent on ads by simply showing up now and then with sensible answers. I really respect her and the company for making that effort where others offer a cold shoulder.

Yeah, in the poker world the companies just hire players with good people skills. No idea why the detector companies don't do the same. It wouldn't cost much to hire a well respected detectorist as company rep. The benefit far out weighs the cost imho. And for the cost they also get someone sitting in on the planning stages letting them know what is important to their customers.

I do want to upgrade my Racer 2 for a machine I can take into the lakes and rivers, this may be the one.

Most importantly, thank you Dilek for being a contributor and a voice for you company.  It certainly means a lot to me.

Brian.

Interesting that nobody has noticed the Simplex EZ Wander Wireless Module shown in the Simplex accessories page on the Nokta site.

Appears to be something along the lines of the WM08 module included with the EQ800 to allow the use of any corded headphone to be used wirelessly.

Hadn’t looked at the website yet but that is very interesting.   Wonder if it might work with the MKruzer???

The Green wireless headphones with with the MMK Anfibio and Simplex, so I bet these would as well.

Perhaps if Dilek is reading this she could verify that?

I think you would like a coil like this on your Simplex Tom. Very thin. Sweeps thru the water incredible.

For people who have impulse control issues, it is really disconcerting that the CAPABLE Simplex+ is priced near the impulse buy threshold.  I have detectors that can do everything as well as the Simplex, but I am intrigued by the simplicity and VCO audio option in AM that I wish my Equinox had.  This could prove interesting in mineralized dirt and may just be the design that finally compels me to get my first full fledged Nokta detector (if it had a higher single frequency selection option, e.g., 24 - 28 khz, it would be a virtual no-brainer).  In fact, I am forced to think up weird rationalizations like if I get the Simplex+ with wireless HP,  that would give me an excuse to pick up the wireless Nokta PulseDive pinpointer because I would then have a compatible Nokta detector to use it with.  I want Simplex and I need help...

This was from a review on Simplex that Andy Sabisch wrote.

“2) If the Target ID jumped around even when wiggling the coil a few inches side-to-side, it was always trash – can slaw, a ball of tin foil, etc. Remember, this is for coin hunting so relic hunting or hunting overseas, you simply need to dig those signals but for coin hunters, erratic TIDs = trash.”

Foil tdi all over. If gold locks on this could be big, maybe.
