actually, thats a lot of work.  Just take one to a coin show, and toss it when no one is looking into the crowd...see how long it takes to sort that out !

Surprised the "Uncommon Wisdom" piece didn't even suggest weighing your coins, although it included the word "weight" exactly once, with no context. Knowing the dimensions and the weight of a pure gold coin you are home free. Common sense seems somewhat uncommon among bloggers.
