Simplex Factory Reset

To revert back to factory defaults please follow the steps below:
* Turn the detector on by pressing the power button.
* Once the SIMPLEX+ logo appears on the screen, press and hold down the Settings and Pinpoint/Confirm button simultaneously until 3 short beeps are heard.

For a hard reset in case of any unresponsiveness of the system, press and hold down for about 6 seconds.

  I had watch the video on a reset of the Simplex before I left the house to go detecting. The last time out with it I’d blocked out a lot so to be digging good signals only. I had done this because I was short on time to hunt .

 Well this time I wanted to dig everything to check on the ID of each. The quick fix was a factory reset. The odd thing right after I done it I lost the sound. I detected about two more targets and everything was okay but on the third the speaker was gone.

 What I’m wondering if for any reason when doing a reset would put a load on the speaker and blow it out?

 I don’t see how are why it would but to say it can’t could prove anything is possible.
