Welcome To The New Tarsacci Metal Detector Forum!

Recommended Posts

I was contacted out of the blue recently by Dimitar Gargov, owner and designer for Tarsacci metal detectors. I gave him a call and we were like two kids talking metal detectors! He explained some ideas he has for the future and I decided it was past time to set up a forum for Tarsacci owners to discuss their detectors. The MDT 8000 is a very high performance detector designed first for saltwater use but people are trying it for other purposes to good result. The bottom line is I have always supported competition especially as regards new technology. My main bias is I tend to only feature detectors with U.S. dealers and service. Yup, I am U.S. centric - sue me!  Tarsacci as a home brewed detector obviously meets that criteria. So here we go, a forum for Tarsacci and the MDT 8000 and whatever else Dimitar's brilliant mind brings us eventually.

Yeah I am buttering him up because I think I have talked him into doing what he never does - appear on a forum to answer questions about his product. Don't expect to get deep proprietary info as it is.... well, it's proprietary! But I hope to see Dimitar here soon. I am sure you will give him all that friendly place to share information we are famous for. Thanks!

It's great to have Dimitar available and I own what I believe are two of his previous designs the Fisher ID Edge & Excel.  The Excel being one of my favorite detectors ever made.  It's ability in iron was never appreciated as much as I think it should have been.

His newest 8000 provides an important benchmark for any other Flagship products to be produced including PI's.

Thank you Steve! I've got about 30 hours on mine now and no gold but that's only because I haven't found it yet.

Hello Steve,

Adding on the Tarsacci forum is terrific,  Coming from a MDT user it’s going to benefit both user and Dimitar.

I’ve had the honor of meeting Dimitar once,  when I first purchased the MDT picked it up In person from his home. Very friendly, felt like we’ve been friends for a lifetime.

Hopefully soon,  will take the two hour drive up there to visit,  then take him up to gold county to test our units on hot dirt.

Thank Steve for adding on the Tarsacci forum,

Paul

Maybe I'll get you back to posting more often now Paul! To be honest the best thing people can do to help Dimitar and therefore the long term prospects of Tarsacci is going to be to post about it. Google rules all and if people can’t Google things and see them as far as they are concerned they don’t exist. That’s the world we live in now. The good news is these forums already were coming up right after the Tarsacci site itself so this will help collect everything in one spot and make it easier for all involved. It brings me traffic and helps Dimitar... win, win!

I appreciate adding it as well.   We have to get people talking.   Right now they seem to be very comfortable that not many on their beach has one of these unique machines.    This machine fits me very well...... i use it for just raw power to find then ID targets.   I met him and his Wife as well when they came to Fl to visit Tom D.    You really get the sense of excitement they have about this machine and what it can do.   We speak a good bit on the phone.... and i wouldnt be surprised if he dont contact a good many machine owners.   Hes very interested in feed back....... he wants to continue making better machines ..... but to do that he needs to know how we are using it and our results.   I believe ive shown it works in the salt water.   Me and a hunting buddy in ClearWater havent been disappointed in the results ..... nor have we put this thing down much over the past year.

Well, I have to admit I am disappointed Dimitar has never shown up on the forum to answer questions about the Tarsacci. When we talked he mentioned he might but so far no show. I hope it’s because he is too busy working on a gold prospecting version of his technology!

I too would like to hear  from Ditimar.  He could answer and share  a lot of questions we may have. I haven’t read any postings of his on other forums either.

Enjoying everything but one person’s posts rub you the wrong way? Go to your settings in upper right and look for “Ignored Users”.
Ignoring a user allows you to block some or all of their content from showing. Users are not notified that you are ignoring them.
Just add the user name you wish to ignore to the list accessed under “Ignored Users”.
I prefer people not complain about or directly address other people about their behavior on the forum. Don't take moderation tasks on yourself... leave that to me. If you have an issue contact me directly about it, or use the ignore function.

Dealers are welcome on these forums. I do as a rule prefer dealers identify themselves when posting. Putting dealership contact information is the signature line is encouraged for this reason, and can bring the dealer some business!
Unlike most forums this one is not owned or sponsored by detector dealers. However, I respect many dealers as being some of the most knowledgeable people in metal detecting. To ban them here would be a bad idea. I in fact would like to attract them. I welcome any posts from any dealer intended to enlighten and inform. Any smart dealer should know people do not like overt sales. The way to go about it is show you know your stuff. Help people. Be useful.

I also do not mind dealers advertising in the Classifieds and in fact again, I welcome it. There are limits however. First, you must identify yourself as a dealer in your ad. Second, only advertise real deals. Genuine limited time offers that people would regret not knowing about. Do not "flood" the Classifieds with ads. A few good quality listings is better than sheer volume. As a rule a dealer should have no more than two ads in the Classifieds at any one time; if more are posted I may delete the oldest ones at my option. And do note that no ads stay up forever unless updated regularly. After 90 days any ad may be deleted. Again, at my option and I am not looking to be draconian but am pretty forgiving. I try to see what the intent is and work with that.

In particular, dealer ad listings for used detectors and demo units are most welcome. Offer the members of the forum real deals, and you will be appreciated.
Dealers can be aggressive types but if so they will meet their match in me. I have very high standards for this forum and demand polite, informative discourse. Anyone wanting anything else, well, the internet is loaded with places that cater to everything else. Here, we stick to meat and potatoes. Advice from my 35 years in retail - talk about what you do that is good, not about what other dealers do or do not do. People do not like it when dealers talk others down. Any dealer that makes a habit of talking negatively about the competition or engaging them directly in a negative way will not be welcome here.

This site will always put regular member interest first over dealer interests. Any member who has a problem with or objects to the behavior of any dealer on the forum, please PM me with your concerns. One person complaining that a dealer did them wrong may not sway me but on the other hand I do not want to support dealers in any way that do not make a habit of going above and beyond for their customers. Since this is all an experiment I am making up as I go you can bet I will be watching like a hawk and make adjustments in practices and policy going forward as I see fit.

I have had mine for a year now and it is the only detector I use now. My only thoughts are the 9 x 11 coil works great in the water but I wish he would offer a 12" coil for the damp, wet and wash. It also would help shrink those fields while relic hunting.

It used to be blocking spammers was easy since most were automated bots. Unfortunately most now are real people. They used to be easy to spot due to poor English. So they took to copying real posts and posting them as their own. The tip off always comes in the form of links to some totally unrelated site.
They now try and get overlooked by joining and posting for a week or two, usually innocuous posts. Then, they later take advantage of the forum edit function that allows you to edit your own posts to modify their old posts to include the stupid spam links.
What they unfortunately do not know is I am always lurking and have a nose for this sort of stuff, so their efforts always go to waste. I not only ban them and delete all their content but add them to the Invision distributed spam list so they get nailed elsewhere. But there is always another one who does not know they are wasting their time here so it never ends.
Long story short I have limited the edit function to 30 days after posting, so you can edit your own posts now for a month, which I think is good enough, but no more after that. Be aware though these people are hitting the forum weekly, and I do catch them, so don't be surprised if every now and then an entire thread or portion of thread disappears as I nuke these people. At this time however they are only a mild annoyance so I don't think I have to do anything more about the issue for now.

Mr. Andy Sabisch is a great metal detectorist and a great man. He after me reaching out sent my husband a free autographed book of his and sent us his business card. My husband has been wanting a Vanquish propack since the mentioning of it being made and Mr Andy offered my husband a great deal. See some people may not know he sells metal detectors. Mr Andy and his wife at Treasure Hunting outfitters have impeccable customer service and truly great deals and Mr Andy will work with me and He's letting me make payments. My husband is going to be so stoked for his birthday present. He is so ready to get back to metal detecting. See not many people know this but metal detecting saved my husbands life he was deeply and darkly depressed and suicidal about 10 years ago. He had his left leg amputated at six in a hunting accident his leg was blown off by a 12 gauge shotgun. At 24 10 years ago. He had his right hip replacement and they told him never work again. He's been on SSI since. Gets very little money I had to work 3 jobs to pick up slack. He felt worthless, useless and he was lonely because I worked kids were always at school and after school programs. He was very close to killing himself. He saw a metal detecting video. And they told Him he could do anything like that but he fell deeply a Passionately in love and was set on fire to get out and find history and discovered a new and free and whole other part of himself in metal detecting. His pinpointer recently broke and he needed one and i mentioned the vanquish to Andy and he ran a amazing deal by me guys I couldn't refuse at all. Period. 590.00 for a pulse dive and a Vanquish 540  propack..... That's major savings and he guys go to Andy for all your metal detecting needs. If he doesn't have it which most likely does he will make sure he gets it for you and as quickly as he possibly can. So go to Andy y'all. Great person. Sales@TreasureHuntingOutfitters.com
(734)230-1121. Oh promo going on 100.00 for pulse dive y'all. Crazy savings
