can you explain that for a dumb aussie? what is a 20" python...as here it's a small harmless snake, and why not detect back to the car rather than shoulder it?

The 20" Python is also known as a Bicep muscle .....  which equals a big arm........ When you detect out 2 to 5 miles to the top of a 2,000 foot hill and detecting the top and bottom through washes and boulders and dangerous vegetation and cactus and then hiking back to the car down hill like a mountain goat...... It's easy to climb and detect up a mountain, but it's harder coming down......

I get injured and roughed up and skuffed and bruised up and tripping and falling from sliding gravel and quartz..... It's a rough way down carrying a backpack, picks and two metal detectors....... You just want to make it back to the truck....... Specially after an 8 hour day digging up lead.

These are pictures I take while detecting .....

You blokes think you have tough detecting terrain?

Some of the killer ground Reg and I have courageously struggled through over the years - - -

Jeez JR!! That is dangerous terrain.

Must be hard keeping your mind focussed on those faint signals while also listening for that faint whistle of a golf ball heading your way!

Bad luck mate. Bet you were gutted having to put the lawnmower away.😂 Gosh there was that much grass it made the roo have a dump. There is still a tinge of green showing through, so not all is lost. Best get that fence up quick smart. 🤠

Hi Manny, nice pics you put up of your detecting grounds too by the way.👍 I, like you have many tough beats to get on to the gold. So I am all too aware of the efforts required. Some I can E- mountain bike into for a wee way & then slogging it out on foot. The good part of the E-bike is the coming back down. I fitted a 28 tooth front sprocket to really gear it down for the up hill grinds. Works a treat. Not so fast for over all speed but gravity coming down far over takes the peedling speed.

Here are few pics, more to come as I am out of time right now. Actually I will just bang the pics up with no commentary. You will get the picture, no pun intended,😄 but you will see the ground I have to deal with.

That's wonderful terrain to prospect...... Here in Arizona it's nice, but dangerous vegetation...... I rolled down a canyon and onto a large Jumping Cholla bush and got this cholla balls stuck all over arms, legs and back that can't be removed except with a pair of pliers, and due to the excruciating pain and the way the fish hooks attach to any skin ...... I was air lifted into a Phoenix emergency room where I was put out to have them removed under anesthesia......More painful than getting blown up in Iraq .....

Thanks for such a beatiful posting..... Made me feel like I was there !!!!!........... That last picture is all the vegetation that hurts you ! Ha ha ....
