GPZ Coils

Anyone heard any chatter when Minelab will introduce a smaller coil for the GPZ? My arm is getting sore, but more importantly, it would be nice to be able to get between tight trees.

Hi Rob, Patrick Swift hear, I asked that very question of a Minelab rep while I was in Alaska a few weeks ago. His answer was Minelabs has no plan on making a smaller coil for the 7000 at this time. He had just arrived as I was packing to leave on the plane out so I did not get a chance to find out any details.

Thanks Patrick for the update. At one point, I believe it was rumored that a smaller and larger coil for the 7000 would be marketed.

Not really a rumor more a matter of when. I can't say I am holding my breath. The more I use the GPZ the less I really care. The stock coil is pretty amazing. I do agree though that both a smaller coil and a larger coil are needed.

A larger one would be fun but I'm guessing the sticker price on it will be $2000+ based solely on the detector's price.
