The United States has a deal with Australia about rare earths.  It is a source outside of China.

Good article on this subject as we here in the USA have had a problem getting the materials at a stable price for a long time.

The only factory that made the rare earth magnets here i the USA went out of business a couple of years ago due to the Chinese manufactures buying up the material and selling it so cheap it put us out of business.

I was working with a lot of magnets and had to purchase them for our manufacturing process when I found it out. The company we were buying from sent us a letter that explained it to us in great detail.

Glad to hear about this and hope it helps us to be free from the Asian markets for what we need.
