Hi Guys, I'm new to this and dangerously armed with a Nox 800 which I am trying to get my head wrapped around right now. I am so very glad this particular thread was going last night when I got in from my first walk in a field with the unit.  It was definatly registering these bump sensitivity issues.  I was like -  I sure don't remember having this issue 30 years ago.  I almost had myself convinced it was static discharge.

It was really reassuring to read this and Steves earlier feedback on the NOX in this regard.

Oh and I found a beer can today.  Not sure if it was confederate or union.

When I remember to set ground balance, I listen to the transitional area between negative and positive GB.  Then set it a few clicks less to get a tone when pumping the coil in the up direction.
