Had a bit of a look at my "copy" to see if I could see the diff to top photo. Also appears the light "LED" sticks out a bit more then on the original.

Saying that I have had a similar issue with 2 of the same brand, even the cheap ones are a God send when you don't have one, After using them for so long I would be lost with out one, My old faithful see's bits down to 0.03-0.06 grams so I don't see the need to buy the latest because they are not as sensitive.
