Tracking Ground Balance

Recommended Posts

The popular and versatile mid-range Equinox 600 and 800 models from Minelab both have the capability.  XP Deus does too but it is pretty expensive.  Those are the only ones that readily come to mind.  Perhaps if you could narrow down the type of detecting you want to do and your acceptable price range you could save us all a lot of time on doing your research for you.

The Multi Kruzer is a really nice machine. Tracking is easy to toss on and off, has iSat control. The Gen Mode (all metal) is really good as you can hear targets that may not even register on the VDI where they maybe masked out. 3 tone is incredible in trashy parks, recovery speed is insane.

The Equinox 600 I recommended, will meet your budget and needs.  Multifrequency Beach mode will stabilize the detector on salt beaches and the adjustable recovery speed will enable you to trade separation in trash vs. depth in low trash situations for parks and fields.  Should not have to use tracking GB under most ground conditions, but the feature is there if you really need it.  Good luck.

I assume you mean detectors still made.  The X-Terra 705 has ground tracking.  But either it's discontinued or is expected to be soon.  Lots of new and used ones out there (e.g. Ebay) still, though.  If interested, contact either Gerry McMullen (Gerry in Idaho on this site) or Rob Allison (also his site name).  One or both might be able to put together a deal.

For an historical note, the Tesoro Lobo SuperTRAQ (natural gold detector) was an early one, and a Dave Johnson creation.  But Tesoro closed, what, 2 years ago?
