Many of us find jewelry and then search online to see who made it or what a mark means.  This helpful site, Heritage Auctions, lists several tools to help establish the value of our finds.

There are lots of repositories for these things.  Here is another one dealing with the Makers Marks or Trade Marks on jewelry.
