Few Older River Finds

Interesting collection of finds.  Why would a mail slot be curved?

Large plate looks like it was for a mail slot. Might have come from an old colonial up the road based on the #.

That is a mail box slot, I have seen several that my grandfather had in his collection.

Great find as they were very common in the early 1900's.

Good luck on your next hunt.

I have to dissagree on the curved plate. It is the dial escutchion for a radio, made by Atwater Kent co. Model 96.

based out of Philadelphia Pa. A. Atwater Kent also patented the auto ignition coil. He lived in Worcester Mass. in 1881.

So maybe the Radio Company plate wen on the back?

Guess they had obnoxious talk radio back then too and chucked the whole thing in the river!

You might want to polish it up and put it over your Tejon knobs, You know to bring back the good old days. Also might be a trend setter!!!!
