Its always bad sometime someplace so that will just have to average out over time. You know the folks down south need a head start as a handicap against us northerners anyway, right?

A solution to not having to give away multiple prizes every month would be to have some kind of random drawing among the category winners to find a prize winner.  If you want to get fancy (I volunteer to help...) you could even weight the drawing by number of entries.  For example, one (virtual) ping pong ball for each entry, colored by the category.

Definitely considering all of this, but do keep in mind simplicity has to be an option. Categories are fine, but each month I want just one winner, plus the year end. I'm up for a once a month thing, but that's about it. Start it there, and once it is going smoothly, adjustments can be made. You guys don't want too add to my stress levels - we know what happens then!!

You must eliminate Australians from the nugget section as they have a unfair advantage. 😠 or make them add some of their spare nuggets to the donations 😁.

I like the whole "give back" idea....good on you!  I can offer up a top notch cancer charity that will get my entire estate when I "pull-the-pin".  This outfit is the ONLY charity or group that offered me any cash help when I went thru my cancer crap, and they did it unsolicited by myself but apparently thru my Doctor...  Let me know via PM when you start your charities list...if interested

Huh 🤔 and I was thinking before I read this thread that I might be posting too many finds as a newbie, so I've kept it to the minimum. 😀 I am out almost every day now that I retired, so I'm bound to find some interesting stuff. Cool idea!

You already have 4 forums for finds.  (DP, coins & relics, jewelry and meteorites)  If you got a forum winner on the last day of the month from each category through open discussion and an open vote then you take those 3-4 winners and on the 1st of the month you have an anonymous vote for 24 hours (maybe 12 PM on the 1st to 12 PM on the 2nd).  Done until the next month.
