GB_Amateur
I saw an ad in the newspaper yesterday. (Remember those? No, not ads, newspapars!) One of those travelling 'carnival' crews that show up at a local hotel, community center, etc. to buy or sell. This one is buying old coins and precious metals. Said they would pay "up to 1200%" for 90% silver coins. Sounds generous! Except 0.7 (my round number -- DwD pointed out the other day that for uncirculated or lightly circulated it's 0.72-something) times current silver spot is over 1900% (i.e. over 19 times face). Reminds me of a quote credited to P.T. Barnum.... Meanwhile I still don't know what 'legitimate' dealers are paying.
