Back To The ATX

Conditions are 'contagious' and oceans discriminate and classify.  You just have to be at the right place at the right time.

Two days ago I walked my normal beaches without result (EQ800/15) and then I came to a little beach and I found a little chain (thought it was silver but not).  Then a few feet away I found another small chain and before the end of the hunt in that 100 ft area I got a 3rd cheap chain.  There isn't any value like your finds but it shows once again if you keep walking and keep detecting that interesting and sometimes valuable objects are where you search for them.

In this case it is not the chicken or the egg.  You MUST search before you find.

Well done.  You make me want to go out and buy my first ATX!  haha

So it seems the “new for me” ATX gels with me well - probably the hundreds of hours with it back in 2014!

Blessed with some more luck, hunts ‘3 and 4’ generated (across two beaches in water) 8 more rings!

2 silver chains and a Pandora bracelet that was “open” - managed to find 3 charms seperate, under water near the hole for the bracelet!

Yesterday’s (3rd hunt) three gold all pretty average, older 9ct small rings, one with a split band.

Today - hunt 4 - only a few coins but found as area of stripped beach (under water) beside a ton of hot rocks!  Argh!  Then an awesome 916 STM (22ct) Malaysian Ring!

finally a strange “hot rock” that is VERY heavy for the size and glitters iron flecks?  This glitters like crazy in the sun!  Any ideas (sorry photos don’t show the glitter!)

ATX is definitely an interesting detector, I like the compactness and
robust construction of this detector ... although the overall weight of the lower rods and the balance of this detector could be even better nowadays .. -but here it is necessary to take into account its water resistance and meeting military criteria for strength and durability ..

The control of the detector function can be mastered quite quickly...

Hunts 5 and 6 - two different locations, both in 2-3metres of water.

Have found the best headphones for the atx (ditch the blue ones - they are too loud!) are the old Grey Ghosts with the volume control if you can find them!

small brighter yellow plain band is 18ct - random find in 2.5m depth

Other bands from an “underwater cut”  - all “soft” high lows
