I have a buddy who goes every year. He is trying to talk me into going there. You have a point in that if foreigners were allowed to detect there, it could and probably would be difficult if not impossible trying to get to some areas. Do they have alot of poisonous snakes there Paul?

GO !

This is the gold of legend in the Philippines.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamashita's_gold#:~:text=Yamashita's gold%2C also referred to,different cities in the Philippines.

I knew someone in the Phils a few years back who was convinced she knew where some of this loot was.  It boggles the brains of many Phils.

That's funny 😂. Snakes are really the only thing I have a hard time dealing with. I can deal with everything else. A friend's buddy has a claim just west of Butte, Montana and last year he killed 50 rattlesnakes on his claim. I only have to deal with grizzlies and mtn. lions where I hunt at, and there are alot fewer of those to be concerned about. Hahaha 🤣.

Goldseeker, If I were you, I'd be looking elsewhere--the president of that country is a vicious nutcase.

Dave McCracken, the head of The New 49'ers, was stuck over there for months because of the pandemic and his being there I'm sure had something to do with gold mining. Their website is www.goldgold.com. Getting through to him may be a challenge, but he's most likely aware of your great book, so good luck in contacting him.

In the South is where the Muslim terrorists are incl elements of Islamic State. Westerners are discouraged from travelling alone there, esp if you're chasing gold. Luzon might be a better bet for safety. There is gold quite close to Manila, in the hills above Marakina and nobody seems to pay much attention to it, except for a few local kids.

Goldfinger , I hope you have a small army with you when detecting in Mindanao !   It's the home of the Abu Sayef who are very prone to abductions , ransoming and beheadings .  White people are a target of theirs . Even up in Luzon where my wife comes from has it's dangers .  Communist separists there are nearly as bad . They often come into conflict with the authority's . Big battle there just a few weeks ago .  Life can be very cheap there , take care .

NO im lucky im married to a nice philipino girl from the region ,and we live in australia and i have wonderd by myself at all the hot spots you are talking about and never had any problems with the locals ,the place your talking about is way in the south thats the no go zone but the rest of mindanao is fine i have been there 4 times and cant wait to get back,i have watched all those gold shows on tv and i reckon some of the places i have seen put them to shame, was escorted by the locals to remote areas ,seams of quartz thru the hills,im no gold expert but have an interest, next time im there i will buy a detector and start to work out how to use it,i have also learnt a bit of there local language,i actually have some pics and videos of my last trip i might post a few of the caves where yamashita markers have been found ,yeah you had to risk your life to get in there.
