Indiana Gold Nugget, Tiny But...

Recommended Posts

Looks like a couple of smaller pieces in the pan also.

I am going to have to get you here where I am at when I am off work next time, then we can see the gold in the pan better.

Nice catch of the speck of gold and keep up the hard work.

That's great finding gold there. It's said that all states have gold. It's not worth while in a lot of states to try and find it though.

I know that in Illinois and Indiana there is more gold than what people realize. The problem is finding a great spot to be able to dig it out of the ground and not get into trouble with our laws.

Here in Illinois I have always been able to find a couple of ounces each year panning and sluicing the creeks.

Just have to find the right spot and then your set for some fun.

My biggest piece panning in western  n.y.is 1.3 grains.I also have  found a .6 grain piece and a  couple .5 grain pieces. One guy in a creek about 7 miles from where I panned  found a 1.6 gram piece with a dredge.I met a geologist from Buffalo who found a nice piece near there that he kept in his wallet.  He found it by sifting a glacier   deposit.
