Opinions On ATX

I am looking to get a beach PI detector and the ATX is one of my choices. This is in Florida on the Gulf side around the Tampa area. I am also going to use it in Tennessee where I do a lot of CW relic hunting. I was wondering anyone's idea about this detector.

I had one.

If you don’t have big biceps.  You better get some.  Heavy machine.  I mean heavy.  Robustly built though.

Not for nothing but the Seahunter isn't that shabby, much better machine with the 10x14 coil. It's no featherweight but with the hip mount or if you mount the box just under the arm it balances nice. Certainly not deeper than the ATX i'm sure but does well in the surf and wet sand and better than a vlf. Only trouble I run into is if we have a big storm here we end up with bits of lobster traps that will drive you crazy.

For the price of the ATX you could buy a Nox 800 and a Seahunter MK2 and still have money left over.
