Welcome aboard Milano !

Your english is very good . Better than my french and I spoke only french until I was 3 ,,,, 65 years ago now ! My memere raised me....

I'm green with envy of your farm and all the history it holds.

I'd guess that everyone on this forum would like a chance to detect there !!

The laws on detecting in France seem quite restrictive ,

Good Luck hunting for your "lost watch and rings" 😉

Hi rvpopeye,

Many thanks !

For my part, I planted truffle trees for the variety of Melanosporum "black truffle" truffles, which I harvest during the autonal / winter seasons and I maintain the trees outside.

Too bad I can’t plant money trees in my backyard. I’d rather be a successful black truffle detector than a metal detector any day of the year!

bon chanceux!

Hi Old Line Paul,

Why in Maryland, is detection complicated there ?

The truffle isn’t an exact science, many people have planted without having much.

« Mother nature » still have the uppercut hand…

It’s more of a pleasure for me than a search for money.

I have a « real » job everything day next door.

Everything is complicated in my part of Maryland (suburb of Washington DC). Rules, regulations and permits for everything. No detecting on federal land or in state parks. Detecting in local parks by permit only, but if you ask they say, “No.” Some beaches allow detecting in certain areas, but I’m several hours away from the beach.

(But from what I read, France is probably just as bad.)
