Well done!  Those are the types of spots we're left to find in known gold areas.  The clues may have been removed but you found some that were not picked up before.  It has changed the way that I look at a known gold area to keep my head in the game looking around the scrub, rocks and even a few open places.

If your metal detector does not find anything up hill, consider panning looking for gold of any size including dust-size.
