Be careful with it. Old fuse blasting caps are Mercury fulminate, when crystallized over the years it becomes extremely unstable. Looks like a fuse cap because there's no wires.

I had a relative working at Olin a long time ago who dropped a tray of that stuff. They used to use it in sheds out back, neither the shed nor she could be found whole.

Back in the early 80’s, a construction site got robbed of a lot of blasting camps and explosives, some of which were used to blow up the Harvey’s casino at Stateline, NV.  Well the perps supposedly dumped their extra caps in the headwaters of a reservoir where I once worked, so when the waster level went down for the summer, we found hundreds of electrically fired caps hanging on old once submerged trees and boulders. It was a mess and we helped to collect them for the SO to detonate. They were pretty powerful and shot shrapnel around from the metal casing when fired. I wouldn’t keep one of those things around, you should give it to the SO or put it in a hole and burn it (a safer way to get rid of TNT, etc.)

My thought was to take it out and shoot from a ways away while standing behind my old pickup.  Dont want anyone to know where my nuggets are at! Lol. I think there are more as i had other loud targets near this one
