Also I am wondering if the detector circuitry might be retuning itself in a major way depending on how much activity it is seeing and also perhaps the voltage level of the battery. I don’t mind all this that much - I can live with it. I just wonder if it is typical. I can at least answer the battery question... there is a boost converter that creates 15V no matter what the battery level is at, and this 15V powers the whole detector. So nothing should change as the battery drops. I don't know what could be causing the whacko mode, I've seen it a couple of time, usually indoors where there is a lot of EMI. The AQ is cranked up really high. Yes, in some situations (esp combo salt & black sand) you have to turn up the delay or increase the ATS to deal with falsing. Either will decrease depth a little so try to keep them minimized. When I wrote the draft for the manual I had a "troubleshooting" section that had all this in it, but it got cut out for some reason. 5 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
