Was wondering if someone can tell me if I have my machine set right

i place a US nickel at 12 in the dry sand and barely herd a signal

settings are

all metal

volume- all the way 9

senstivity-7-8

threshold barley here it around 6

ats at 0

reject at 0

pulse delay 7-7.5

now I saw joe video with him doing air test and he was getting close to 19 in

was wondering what other hunters are getting with there machine on a air test

everything is stock. Headphones, battery

I also know that a pulse air test isn’t the actual depth. I am just comparing mine to joe video and was wondering what everyone else is getting

Volume 9/sensitivity 5>9/ threshold 4>5/ ATS 6>8/ reject does nothing in all metal mode. 10 on delay to 11 should be fine. In tone mode 2>3 on reject. These are my settings. Joe is close to the same. He is a little under the weather right now. Good luck.

I'm wondering if the ATS at 0 is the problem. I rarely ran mine below 3 and had to slow down having it so low. Try the settings  Carolina gave you or just raise the ATS above 3 and see if either of those settings help.

Curious, wouldn't you get better results for depth with a pi if the target is buried? EMi slaughters my simple Seahunter in air test but in the wet sand it does well.

He’s just trying to confirm if his detector is performing in par with others. Yes, in actual detecting removing ground removes the PI advantage. And air tests can’t confirm if ground balance is working. But all AQ should air test the same on a nickel, and if not, something’s up.
