Haven't had a chance to test, I'm stuck in town working for another week at least.

I'm pretty sure it isn't the issue though, it doesn't explain why the 6000 works fine at some locations, but not at others - every time I revisit. Or why it loses stability with both coils - my 11" was definitely tightened on as far as it would go, and the 9" connector only moved a fraction of a mm.

Haven't heard back from ML yet either.
