Findings Recovery From Cracks In Rocks

Recommended Posts

Question for experts in water detection at sea...

Detecting in the water while diving, or without diving but at low tide, when you find a coin or ring in the cracks of the rocks, some f them very deep and narrow, what tools do you use to get them out without dying in the attempt?

When I dive I use the knife, although sometimes I get desperate and it takes many minutes, and maybe someone has already found some instrument for it.

And you, what tools do you use for it?

I once spotted a silver ring underwater in a crevasse between two rocks.. I ended up swimming back to the beach and going home to fetch a long piece of wire.. It took about half an hour (and half a tank of air) to finally hook it out..

Lot of thanks, Steve and Erik. The diving knife is McGiver's tool for everything 😂

While diving, usually it does the work, but it's more difficult when you're on low tide, you can't take the sand out, neither see what's inside and what position. Here is where I really need to improve.

Maybe some sort of hand pump/billows to flush the sand away?
