Restored Ring

About a month ago I was detecting at a school field with my Deus 2 and I found a 14K woman's ring.  It has an opal stone in the middle with three diamonds on each side.  It was about 4 inches down in the ground.  It was in pretty bad shape from being in the ground for so long, and I think that it also got stepped on.  It was missing one of the diamonds, the opal was pretty badly scratched up, it was out of round, and it had lost some of its shine.  My wife liked it because she really likes opals, so I took it to a jeweler and had it repaired.  It cost me $290 to have it restored to new condition, but now it is worth a lot more that that.  But it is not going anywhere because it now belongs to my wife.

Cool you dug an opal ring that wasn't broken, they are pretty easy to break. Nice cleanup! They whacked you for a diamond I guess. 👍

Great looking ring again, glad your wife wanted to keep it, and you had it restored.

Those are some of the nicest rings from the early 1900's, my grandmother has one very similar to it from that era.
