Reminds me of a threaded pipe flange.  Those tend to be round with four holes, but maybe yours is for a tight space?  Here's an example from the above link (larger size than yours?):

Perhaps to mount a Canopy frame to a buggy body.

Thanks GB, that's as close as it gets. 👍 It's really old and square threaded, I think JCR is right.

I've only found a couple of KG coins, but I do find Spanish silver here. That's what really got me into the hobby 2 years ago, found some pistareens in a field in front of my house. 🙂
