I am not a specialist but they look like to be 1st Empire buttons ( 1800-1812 ) . Did you find them in the US ? Did you find them in the US ? I have found similar buttons on a 1814 battlefield in France聽 I dug the French Navy and the 64th near Williamsburg on private land. I collected the others. based on a book I have that discusses French Regiments in Virginia with backmark photos. I know the French passed by my house in 1788 after the Rev. George Kinsey Posted December 7, 2022 Author Share Posted December 7, 2022 I found my reference book. It's titled The French Army in America During the American Revolution. All fought at Yorktown. The regiments are as follows: 7,13,16,17,18,26,34,41,64,68,70,74,84,85,89,104 and Navy. The 64th Suisse were Volunteers with聽 Count Rochambeau. They were of Swiss National origin.
