CoinShooter1
Calabash, Tn Sharp Shooter, Iffy, Nasa Tom, and all the others who follow suit... I appriciate everything they do. Because of these guys, I feel like I already have a little experience with a product that I have not even touched! Keep up the great job! Happy Hunting!
longbow62
Watching videos can be somewhat helpful as long as you keep in mind results may vary widely from what you see in the video.
dsb
Well it's good to see it in action. To get an idea what TT looks like is a given as it's what's feeding the interest mostly. If you've swung a coil and paid attention to conditions you know about varying results.

Agree, we all know conditions vary with location and I read more than watch videos but their knowledge can shorten the learning curve. Just knowing what the 2D display looks and reacts like helps. Especially when knowledgeable people comment. It is appreciated.
Troy E
Haven’t seen all the videos, but the ones I did see everyone was using the factory settings. The Manticore looks really good for the coin hunting I do right now. I really like the Nox 10-5 coil. Hunting in parks I’ll take the target separation and lighter weight, over a little more depth and a bit heavier. So I’m hoping by the time I get the Manticore in my hands the smaller coil is available. I’d like to see some of the custom features in the manticore on live digs.
Redneck
Nasa Tom is really a big help. He is also on the Minelab team which helps.
Steve Herschbach
The Minelab marketing machine in full swing. I find their conclusions to be mixed at best, often at odds with what I see on my targets in my ground, but kudos for the effort expended. The Manticore is a good detector in my experience, and should please many people.
FFX2
The iron falsing issue is a major concern for me and may be enough to cancel my order. Who is nasa Tom?

Bill (S. CA)
I'm going to throw in on this and offer a take on this subject that lines up with Steve's comments. While I appreciate all of these YouTubers and Internet guys posting their tests on new machines like the Manticore, one needs to be cautious in evaluating their results as the Gospel. Testing metal detectors is not like reviewing a new food processor, for example, or a new cell phone or any other type of technology-based product. Metal detectors as we all know can provide varied results depending not only on the software platform but also on things like the environment and user experience/expertise. Most of these guys are in such a hurry to learn and evaluate a detector so they can post their videos that they can easily be making mistakes. This isn't to criticize them. Anyone, and I mean ANYONE who uses a new detector is going to make mistakes with it. That is the learning curve. We saw this happen with The Legend multiple times. I honestly don't know if the Manticore is a good detector or not. But I like the looks of it. Does it false in iron? Maybe, maybe not. But please don't post your first hunt in iron with a new detector and then pronounce judgement on it, pro or con, after one day in the field. Sometimes it takes years to master a detector. I swing an Equinox almost all the time and I'm still learning things about it I didn't know. And to be totally honest, some of it has been due to operator error despite my considering myself to be pretty proficient with it. My point here is this: watch the videos if you like. Be entertained by them but don't make your decision to buy/don't buy based solely upon them. And if you really want to get an objective opinion from an actual expert before you buy a new detector, wait until Andy Sabisch reviews it. He knows more, and has used more detectors, than anyone in the history of the hobby. Just my two cents on this. Bill
