Emi 900 Y Manticore

Looking at this Calabash video it seems that the Equinox 900 has less EMI problems than the Manticore.  Seeing how well the 900 performs in the videos I've seen I think the minelab has the enemy at home.  I think it was a big mistake to release it at the same time as the manticore.  I don't know how much difference in dollars there is between the two, but in Europe there is a difference of 800 euros between one and the other, with that I think I say it all

I think his video is too rushed to draw any conclusions about EMI. Detector settings as well as sensitivity affect EMI issues. Other videos seem to show the Manticore does really well on EMI. I am waiting for more long term users to report back.

I think both are going to turn out to be really good machines. Time will tell if we call them great.

Yea I agree I think Minelab may have shot them selves in the foot on this one. The performance is so close between the Manticore and the 900 that I think a lot of people are picking up the 900 since the Manticore isn't readily available. Now will they pick up a Manticore in the future? maybe maybe not. If the target trace is a big deal, then yea by all means get it. But I think a lot of people can live without it.

I took my 900 out to an area that I have spent many hours with the 800. I was not able to run my sensitivity any higher on the 900 then I did the 800. That was the main thing about the 900 I was hoping for. But,  I will say that was one site, first hunt. In all fairness, this is a old football field that is surrounded by multiple sources of emi.

Someone posted or showed me one of this Calabash dude's vids like 5 days ago where he came to the exact opposite conclusion: he said specifically in it that the Manticore was doing better in EMI in his backyard than the 900 was, while they were both turned on and running simultaneously.

EMI is pretty random depending on sources. I'd be careful drawing conclusions about machines unless you can hear an audio feed from both machines, at the exact same time, in the same place.

Since he really likes to churn out vids apparantly, someone should recommend he goes and does exactly this, in like 4 or 5 representative areas - backyard, park, farming field, deep woods, urban sidewalk strips, etc. Both machines sitting 20ft apart with camera in the middle, same sensitivity and program, exact same time, for 30 seconds and let us hear the audio.
