An Underwater Pinpointer With Coil?

t’s not at all sensitive to small targets, a side effect of it being great in salt water

I did read somewhere that it actually works better in salt water - does that sound right?

I am a freshwater based 'diver'.

Although I won't catch and release any size piece of gold I am primarily looking for those 5 gram and upwards pieces as they generally add up a little quicker (location known to have multi ounce pieces up to a verified 10 ounce piece found in 1982 during a drought).

Based on freshwater and size I am going for, is the Pulse Dive still top of my tree?  🤔   Or are the Pulse Dive, Scuba Tector and F-Pulse all optimised to work better in salt?

I think their lack of small target sensitivity is due to being made for salt, they’d do ok on half gram nuggets in fresh water, it’s very small gold they’re bad especially compared to something like your pro find. Being a PI they are deep on bigger stuff so gram and over should be quite good I think.

i was at a fresh water swimming spot today I’m kicking myself I didn’t bring a detector along especially my Pulse Dive with coil, I’ll have to go back with a detector on a bad weather day when no people are there so I don’t have an audience, that’s where the pulse dive is great though, small and discreet with plenty of power for rings and I bet in this cool glacier melt water rings  are dropped by tourists all the time.

I can just see the rings falling off, like a hunter looking at its pray 😁

The spot I was at a couple of days ago was even colder with icebergs but far less swimmers, I went in though.

I think you would be satisfied with a Pulse Dive, great price for an excellent product.

It is at the top of the list at the moment.  The big question is, do I get the kit with the smaller coil included or buy the pinpointer on its own and get just the big 8" coil.   Decisions, decisions  🤔

I have a Nokta Pulsedive. Nice pointer and built like a tank BUT it is not sensitive to small jewlery like earrings, chains. and I believe other pi pointers are similar.

Between the Quest and Nokta I think the Nokta one is deeper from what I had seen on Noobtube.

It doesn’t need to be in my opinion.  I mean you are basically snorkeling with this.  So probably not going to be using digging tools.  So for fanning or hand grabbing sand you want targets to be rings or big bracelets etc.  Now sucks it might miss thin necklaces but even full size machines have had similar problems and unless the earing is a diamond stud, who cares 😂
