Advertising Ice Picks we’re common before actual refrigerators we’re in common use. Also bottle openers, bread knives….

That is a soldering iron from about 100 years ago, it was heated up either in a forge or a pump-up torch.

They worked great on copper wires and sheets of copper.

Good find and a lot of history behind those items.

Grandfather has 3 of them left in the garage that I have used in the past on some copper sheets. They hold the heat pretty good for their purpose.

I think Glenn and JCR are right it's a soldering iron. I have an antique ice pic and even an old soldering iron put away. There is no way of putting the fat end into a piece of wood as a handle, point side is put in.

You got me digging in my old tool box, is the tip copper? Then I’d say for sure it is an old iron, it also is shaped like it could be used to rig sails and splice rope?

that’s a quarter next to it for size comparison.
