Rick N. MI
I don't have the Manticore. I did have 2 Equinox's and it had the same problem in iron only the Manticore seems to be worse. My guess is the coil is over powered. With the sensitivity 22 it's hitting coins at 11"+ and hitting about 6" from the edge of the coil. With the sensitivity as high as it can be run in iron isn't good. I don't know if it would help lowering the sensitivity more. It did help the Equinox. White's v3i had a tx gain setting that could be turned on or off. I'm guessing with the coil having that power would not be good in iron. Would be nice if the Manticore at tx gain setting.
Redneck
(I dont have my Manti yet.) Calabash came out with a ten min vid this am about adjusting upper ferrous limits. I dont think he had his machine set up right on the video you watched. I watched a few vids with him detecting around that white house, after seeing those vids I did not want a Manti. But watching other vids from other seemingly more experienced users, I ordered a Manti last nite from Cabelas. My guess is he rushed a vid out for the youtube revenue. Hope Im wrong in my assumptions on Calabash.

Rick N. MI
You have spring before me. So you would be around the Flint/Lansing area.
abenson
I have not had the falsing issues in heavy iron sites like Calabash. I would say it doesn't false any worse than my Equinox 800 did. 7
Rick N. MI
That's good to hear. I'm trying to decide if I want to get a Manticore or Deus 2 this spring. From what I'm seen the Manticore goes a little deeper than the Deus 2 and is hotter on gold. Is the Manticore better than the Legend? I don't know. How deep can the Legend hit a nickel in the sand for water hunting? I'll find out in the spring. I know the Manticore can hit 16". I have the Legend w/3 coils, Xp Orx w/9" hf coil, AT Gold w/8x11 and Nel Superfly, Tejon w/9x8 concentric & Gold Kruzer w/3 coils. I hope Manticore has more coils coming. I would to see a 9" round coil. It would be great for water hunting.
bamajoe
I don't think he understands "DEEP AUDIO" setting. It discriminates differently....

Honestly, I wouldn't want to be digging too deeply into sand, especially if the water level is high you'll just start making puddles in your hole real quick. To which it just becomes tougher to dig; though the legend has no problems with finding deep targets (and small targets) I would say. My legend periodically finds snap button studs and those are tiny!
Popular Post longbow62
It does not false anymore than the Nox 800 for me either. I have run it in AT-High Conductors which does false More than AT Low Conductors or AT-General. Constant iron grunts today where I was hunting. My iron limits have been lowered to upper limits 8-Lower limits 3. That's lower than stock and I'm not digging much iron. I did dig a few large iron nails even though I was pretty sure it was iron. I also found two silver quarters in the same hole with iron involved. There was iron in the hole and the lower quarter had been up against iron. One way the I.D. and target trace was a blob on the non-ferrous line. Not perfectly round. turning on the target resulted in a mixed tone, and the target being pulled from in the ferrous region down to the non-ferrous line. 11
