Question. Will this shaft still fit in the XP backpack? I really like to use my 280.

That was my main concern and also a priority.Because for lack of a better expression I live out of my 280 backpack! The reason being I am a little eccentric about being covert and on the sly.So to answer your question I emailed Steve and he answered a resounding yes. However i haven't ordered one as of yet but a couple of other forum members have confirmed that it does.

I just received my new carbon fiber shaft assembly today from Steve's Detector Rods. You talk about a fine piece of equipment with some excellent workmanship. I'm super impressed and very pleased with my investment. I look forward to getting it out in the field and not having to worry about my $1,600 detector falling over in the dirt and mud 🙂 Big shout out to Steve for his excellent customer service and his craftsmanship. You can tell a lot of thought went into this beauty.

Dan, THANK YOU for the very kind words, I am so glad you are pleased!

And thanks to everyone else who had such nice things to say about the shaft!  I really appreciate it!

XP could learn from this, how to make a detector that can stand on it's own two feet.  I would buy one of these if It were viable where I live for my XP Deus 1.  It looks great.

Phrunt, just FYI, while shipping is expensive to New Zealand, I WILL ship there, and the shaft WILL work with the D1.  I'm even working on an attachment to the locking mechanism, so that you can "lock" the D1 remote onto the "mount" also...  🙂

Capp -- yes, it will.  I've had a couple of customers confirm it...as Doc Bach noted...

THANK YOU everyone, and THANKS, Dan!

By the looks of the photo below it should fit in the 240 and 280IMG_20230303_171737925_HDR2.thumb.jpg.21900d89516906733fd484b2f0a6e691.jpg.ebd80439fa7cca61ca3e437df96247f0.jpg
